Earn Extra Credit in English

This summer you can earn extra credit for this fall’s English class by reading books from BOB – The Hilldale Battle of the Books Reading Contest.  To qualify for the extra credit, you must take and pass the AR test for every Bob book you’ve read by Wednesday, August 31^st.  All tests must be taken by 3:00 p.m. that day. 

At the Middle School, we have a Battle of the Books contest every year.  This year’s BOB list has 15 young adult books selected from various awards lists, or nominated by our staff.  There are individual prizes for reading books from the BOB list, the more books you read, the bigger the prize.

To earn extra credit during the summer a student can:

Read one book = 25 points

Read two books = 50 points

Read three books = 100 points 

Students can check these books out from the public library, purchase them from bookstores, or read them on an e-reader of some type (Kindle, Nook, Ipad).The BOB books are great reads, so enjoy the summer with a good book!
