Launch the media gallery 1 playerThis summer you can earn extra credit for this fall’s English class by reading books from BOB – The Hilldale Battle of the Books Reading Contest. To qualify for the extra credit, you must take and pass the AR test for every Bob book you’ve read by Thursday, August 31st. All tests must be taken by 3:00 p.m. that day.
At the Middle School, we have a Battle of the Books contest every year. This year’s BOB list has 18 young adult books selected from various awards lists or nominated by our staff. The BOB contest is also a contest between the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades for a pizza party and bragging rights. So help your grade get a head start by reading a book.
To earn extra credit during the summer a student can:
Read one book = 25 points
Read two books = 50 points
Read three books = 100 points
A copy of The Hilldale Battle of the Books list for 2017-2018 is on the back of this flyer. Students can check these books out from the public library, purchase them from bookstores, or read them on an e-reader of some type (Kindle, Nook, Ipad).The BOB books are great reads, so enjoy the summer with a good book!
