Spelling Bee Winners

On February 15, several Hilldale Middle School students participated in the school spelling bee. 6th grader Kiarra Guerrero captured first place. 7th grader Tyler McCoy was the runner-up. Congratulations to all participants!

Oklahoma Small School All State Band Members

Chris Whipple, Madison Riddle, and Trevor Wiedel auditioned and made the Oklahoma Small School All State band. They attended and performed a clinic/concert at Oklahoma City University. The band was under the direction of Dr. Timothy Rhea, director of bands at Texas A&M. Chris and Madison are seniors this year. Madison recieved the three year honor medal. Trevor is a junior this year. We are very proud of them!

Lady Hornets Win District Championship

The Hilldale Lady Hornets won their 4th consecutive District Championship Friday night against Berryhill. They advance to Regional play this Thursday against Locust Grove. They will play back at Berryhill at 6:30. The Hornets will also play in Berryhill at 3:00.

Students Attend Math and Engineering Competition

Several students attended the Math and Engineering Competition held on February 9, 2017 at the Muskogee Civic Center. Levi Gassaway competed in the 10 th grade balsa wood boat competition. Taylor Davis and Matthew Clabaugh competed in the 11 th grade Ping pong ball launcher (silver medalists). Alyk Keefe and Chris Dyke competed in the 9 th grade ping pong ball launcher. Colonial Day

On February 3rd, fifty 5th graders attended the 2017 Colonial Day in Oklahoma City. This is the second year that Mrs. Leybas was elected to bring her students to attend the fun-filled day of colonial events. Students were able to meet Benedict Arnold, George Washington, Wyn Mabee (one of Washington’s female spies), Ben Franklin, and many other people sent to Oklahoma City from the Mt. Academic Team Delivers Valentines

For Valentine’s Day this year, the HMS Academic Team partnered with Bank of America/Merrill Lynch to deliver valentines to veterans at the VA. Seventh-grade students designed and created the valentines, and on Monday, February 13, HMS Academic Team members delivered the valentines to veterans.

2016-2017 District Teacher of the Year

Mrs. Danielle Hambrick has been selected as the 2016-2017 District Teacher of the Year for Hilldale Public Schools. Mrs. Hambrick teaches 6th grade Math at Hilldale Middle School.
