School Closing Update 3/20/20

Good Evening,
Today we were notified that the U.S. Secretary of Education has issued flexibility for states to cancel all state testing. We also have been advised to make plans for how to provide instruction after April 6th IF we are not back in school. Our administration has started that process and will work in the next two weeks to prepare.
On Monday, March 23, our staff will begin distributing food at four locations from 11:30-12:30. They are:
- Hilldale Elementary School
- New Hope Assembly of God
- Oasis Community Church
- Eastside Community Church
On Tuesday, March 24, we will begin distributing both breakfast and lunch at the same locations from 9:30-11:30. If you need food delivered to you please contact your child’s school site next week and we will work to make that happen.
I want to say THANK YOU to our support staff. You are all essential. Without you no one will answer a parents’ call when they need food or help. No one will prepare meals to distribute. No one will help pass out food to our students in need. No one will clean our facilities so all staff is safe at this time. No one will make sure our sites are well maintained and safe. No one will make sure human resource needs are meet for all staff. No one will make sure payroll is prepared and bills are paid. You are all essential and we THANK YOU for all you do.
Finally, if you are a person of faith, I ask for your prayer. Prayer for our school, staff, community, state, and country. Prayer for our school board and administration as we make the best possible decisions for our students and staff. Be safe.
