Robotics Competed at Haskell
On Saturday, February 26, Hilldale Middle School Robotics competed at Haskell. This years game is called VEX Tipping Point.
Hilldale’s Team 74403 D, alongside their alliance from Haskell, battled their way to the Championship round. (See video in Media Gallery - Hilldale is in red on the right.) Points are first awarded for the autonomous mode which both teams were able to score points and ended in a tie.
Next begins the driver control period where teams battle on the field to place the yellow mobile goals on their side of the field plus keep any mobile unit of their alliance. In this match, Hilldale is the red alliance.
Defense must also be played to take away the blues mobile goal and move them to red side to take points away from the opposite alliance.
Points can also be scored if the team successfully stacks mobile goals on the platform or their robot.
This battle continues for 1:45. Winners are determined by the goals scored. In this match Hilldale and Haskell are the champions and automatically get a bid for the State Championship in March.
