"Rise Up" Baking Scholarship

The Modern Mountain Rise Up Baking Scholarship is for students looking to pursue a professional career in Baking and Pastry Arts. It was created to support and connect with upcoming bakers, making the pursuit of your professional baking aspirations just a bit easier through financial assistance and one simple-as-can-be application. We'd love to give you a bit of dough to help you start off your first year right!
One recipient will receive a one-time award of $1,500 to be used towards tuition for the 2022/2023 school year. Payment will be administered directly to the recipient via mailed check no later than August 15, 2022. Prior to receipt of the award, the recipient will need to provide a headshot of 400px or greater (a well-lit selfie works just fine, don't worry!).
Eligibility
Eligibility for the Modern Mountain "Rise Up" Baking Scholarship is as follows:
A) You have demonstrated academic excellence through a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
B) You have been accepted or are enrolled to a Baking & Pastry Arts program at a US-accredited post-secondary institution, college, or university as a part-time or full-time first-year undergraduate student. (Scholarship applications can be submitted while in the process of applying to Baking & Pastry Arts programs, but applicants will need to provide proof of acceptance into a program by the application deadline of May 31, 2022 in order to be considered as a scholarship recipient.)
C) You are a legal citizen of the US.
Application Process
Our application includes the following components:
A) Short essay responses to each of the following essay questions:
1) What does baking mean to you? (300-500 words recommended)
2) Tell us about your long-term goals or aspirations that have led you to pursue a career in baking and pastry arts.
3) What is your best baking tip or trick?
B) A current and complete transcript showing a GPA of 3.0 or higher
C) Proof of enrollment in a Baking & Pastry Arts Program at an accredited post-secondary institution, college, or university for the 2022/2023 school year.
