Special Education Services

The purpose of Special Education Services at Hilldale Public Schools is to:

1.
To ensure that all children with disabilities have available to them a free appropriate public education (FAPE) that emphasizes special education and related services designed to meet their unique needs and prepare them for employment and independent living;
2.
To ensure the rights and protection of children with disabilities and their parents;
3.
To assist public agencies in the provision of special education and related services;
4.
To assess and ensure the effectiveness of efforts to educate children with disabilities.

In accordance, Hilldale Public Schools will follow the policies and procedures as set forth by the Oklahoma State Department of Special Education.

Child Find Notice

Child Find is a component of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and is an ongoing process of locating, identifying and evaluating children between ages 0 and 21 who may need special education and related services.  “All children with disabilities residing in the Hilldale Public School District, whether attending public or private school should be identified, located, and evaluated.” This service is provided to children with disabilities free of charge.  If you would like more information on child find, contact Hilldale Special Services office at 918-686-6056.
