Welcome to preschool! I am so excited about this year and all of the wonderful things happening here at Hilldale! My name is Sara Fletcher and this is my fifth year of teaching preschool at Hilldale. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from NSU, and I cannot think of a better grade to teach than preK, or a better school to teach it at. I have lived here in Muskogee for the last 19 years, and I have three beautiful children that also attend Hilldale. Bret is 11 and in the sixth grade, Boone is 14 and in the eighth grade, and Broc is 16 and in the tenth grade. Starting preschool is a very exciting time for parents and children. I know this transition can be a little scary for you as a parent, and for your child, but I assure you, I will work on making this transition go as smoothly as possible. I have lots of interesting activities planned to get your child engaged in learning and ready for kindergarten. My philosophy of education is that I believe every child is different and unique, and should be treated with love and respect. With your help, we can teach your child skills, habits and behaviors that are critical for their social, emotional, and cognitive development. Every child learns from experiences; I plan on using these classroom experiences to demonstrate and model appropriate behaviors, and to teach lessons that support important lifelong skills. I am very happy to have your child in my class. I believe that by all of us working together we can have a very successful year.
