This class surveys the Old and New Testament through the lens of understanding the cultures behind the Bible such as Greek Hellenism, Cultures of Canaan, historical events in the Bible, and contrasting teachings of world teachers such as Confucius, Buddha, and other worldviews in a compare/contrast format. Part of our goal is also to make the student understand the nature of the conflict in the Middle East through the lens of history as well as studying the best selling book in the history of print, The Bible. This class is not proselytizing and all efforts are taken to respect the world view of students.
