I’m happy to share with you all that our Rotary Youth Leadership Awards ( RYLA ) camp is preparing to return for students in March, 2023. My fellow Rotarians from OK, AR, MO, & KS cannot wait to put COVID issues behind us and share this wonderful experience with your students.
I have attached the application packet that you can make copies of to hand out to any students that might be interested. The camp will be held March 16 – 19th which is Thursday thru Sunday of many Spring Breaks but I hope that won’t deter any of you from at least asking for interest of your CURRENT JUNIORS. We would love to have at least 4 students from each school but would be happy if we could get overrun with applications. Our club sponsors the $ 300 camp fee for each student we approve to attend and thankfully we have never had to turn anyone away.
As I have mentioned in the past, you or your students can look on Youtube or Facebook for RYLA District 6110 to see past camp information and videos. After missing 3 years, I expect this years camp to be extra special. f you would like to have a Rotarian come visit your school to share information, don’t hesitate to give me a call and I’ll see what I can get scheduled, if needed.
Rotarian Ricky Epperson and Martin Updike will be helping with this program and look forward to sharing this experience with as many students as we can so the sooner applications are returned the better. Muskogee Rotary Club volunteers will again handle transportation to and from camp for each school and more details on this will be shared once we have student applications approved.
The deadline to get applications back to Ms. Fredrick is February 20th. Her contact info is listed on the application.
