Deadline: March 15, 2017

At the Law Offices of Matthew J. Quinlan, our San Francisco personal injury attorneys see countless cases of people being injured in accidents that were caused by texting & driving. We want to do our part to prevent texting & driving accidents so we have decided to raise awareness about the problem in the group of people that needs increased awareness most (18-24 years olds) by offering a bi-annual (March and September) $1,000 college scholarship (totaling $2,000 per year). Speaking of increased awareness, we are all aware of the rapid rising price of college. In some instances the increased cost of tuition, room and board, books and living expenses can be the cause of derailed graduation goals. That is unacceptable. The San Francisco car accident lawyers at our office value education immensely, having each attend 7 years of schooling beyond high school in an effort to achieve our dreams of becoming attorneys. In an effort to raise awareness of the danger of texting & driving while simultaneously lightening the financial load of students and their families we are pleased to a award our bi-annual Don’t Text & Drive Scholarship.

Discuss The Importance Of That Text Conversation In Relation To The Risk You Took.  Why Did You Feel The Urge To Take That Risk That Particular Time?  Do You Text & Drive Frequently?  Why Is It Difficult For You To Stop Texting & Driving?  Can You Stop Texting & Driving Completely?  Will You?
Applications shall be submitted via email sent to scholarship@mjqlaw.com.  You may attach a Word doc (or equivalent) or simply use email text.  Attach your screen-caps to the email.  Your email must also include: Your Name, Your Cell Phone Number, Your Mailing Address, Your School and Year, and a link to Your Facebook Profile (please don’t include any other information or a plea).

Applicants must: Select ONE of the following three topics: 1). Equality knows that his invention will benefit mankind greatly. However, this was not his primary motivation in conducting his experiments, and it is not the primary source of the joy and the pride he experiences in his work. What is his primary motivation? Do you think that Equality is right to be motivated in this way? Explain the reasons for your answer. What do you think the world would be like if everyone were motivated in the same way? 2). Politically, Anthem depicts a completely collectivist society. What ideas do the rulers appeal to in order to justify their collectivist society? What similarities, if any, do you see between these ideas and the ones that you hear around you today? In what way, if any, has your own thinking about such ideas been affected by reading and reflecting upon Anthem? Relate your answer to a speech, “The Soul of a Collectivist,” made by a villain in a different Ayn Rand novel, The Fountainhead. 3).To Prometheus the word “ego” is holy, but today one is usually told that it is wrong to be an egoist. Is Prometheus an egoist? What does this mean? Is it something good or bad? Explain your answer by reference to specific events in Anthem, and to a speech, “The Soul of an Individualist,” made by the hero of a different Ayn Rand novel, The Fountainhead.
