Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation Scholarships
Deadline: April 1, 2017
The purpose of the scholarship program is to further the study of insurance and encourage, support, and reward those exceptional students who have an interest in an insurance career. In order to be eligible for this Scholarship, students must meet the following guiding principles: Have an overall GPA of 3.25 or a major GPA of 3.5 or higher; Be a college sophomore, junior or senior. Satisfy one of the following substantive requirements: Be an RMI major/minor/concentration student; Have taken RMI courses; or Have work experience in the RMI industry.
National Society of High School Scholars Foundation Stem Scholarship
Deadline: April 1, 2017
The NSHSS Foundation provides STEM scholarships for underrepresented groups in order to help reduce financial barriers for those with academic and leadership potential and the desire to pursue STEM careers. We recognize that in order to increase diversity in the technology workforce, we must increase diversity in undergraduates. STEM scholarship application for $1,000 college scholarships with a deadline of April 1, 2017. High school seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrated desire to major in any area of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics are eligible. Requirements include personal statement, list of STEM activities, photo, transcript, and educator recommendation. **Note to all applicants: A transcript, resume, essay, and photo must be submitted for all NSHSS Foundation scholarships (The STEM Scholarship requires a list of STEM activities in lieu of a resume). One educator recommendation will be applied to all NSHSS Foundation scholarships.

Pete and Lela Stavros Scholarship

The Pete and Lela Stavros Educational Foundation was established following the retirement of Pete Stavros as director of legislation for the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association. Scholarships given by the Pete and Lela Stavros Educational Foundation honor his career and service as a firefighter and promote the couple's interests in providing educational opportunities for the children of Oklahoma's firefighters. A permanent endowment fund was established at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation in June 2002 and continues to receive contributions from association members across Oklahoma. Award Amount: $1,000. Funds may be used for educational-related expenses such as tuition, fees and books at any academically accredited two-year, four-year or vocational technical nonprofit institution in the United States. Payments are made directly to the school.

Project Yellow Light - Hunter Garner Scholarship

Project Yellow Light is a scholarship competition designed to bring about change. As an applicant you have one clear mission: encourage your peers to develop and embrace safe driving habits. Here's what we're looking for. A video, billboard design or radio spot created to motivate, persuade and encourage your peers to not drive distracted. You have a unique opportunity to play a key role in spreading this important message. You can speak to your peers on this subject in a way that adults cannot. The more lives you can impact, the more lives you can save. For the video competition: For both the high school and college categories, the first-place winner will receive a scholarship in the amount of $5,000. Second-place finisher will receive $2,000. Third-place finisher will receive $1,000. Videos are due April 1.

Walmart Dependent Scholarship

The Walmart Dependent Scholarship Program awards scholarships of up to $13,000 that can be used over the course of four academic years. Eligible applicants who complete the online application process will be evaluated based on financial need and academic achievement. Approximately 25% of all eligible applicants will receive scholarships.

Prospective Educator Scholarships

The PDK Educational Foundation awards more than 30 scholarships each year to prospective educators who have a connection to PDK by having a family member or teacher who is a PDK member, or through membership in Educators Rising. All scholarships are available under a single application. Eligibility: Individuals who meet one of the following criteria may apply directly to PDK International through the online application: (1) High school senior intending to major in education who is a good standing member of Educators Rising. (2) High school senior intending to major in education who is the child or grandchild of a Kappan in good standing. (3) High school senior intending to major in education who has one of his/her reference letters written by a Kappan in good standing. (4) An undergraduate member of PDK who is enrolled in a college education program. (5) An undergraduate member of Educators Rising who is enrolled in a college education program.

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation enables high-ability middle and high school students with financial need to realize their full academic potential. High-achieving 7th grade students with financial need are encouraged to apply to this unique pre-college scholarship. OKC ALL Stars All Sports Association Scholarship

$1,200 SCHOLARSHIP TO AN OUTSTANDING GIRL. $1,200 SCHOLARSHIP TO AN OUTSTANDING BOY. Oklahoma City All-Sports awards two (2) $1,200 scholarships annually to an outstanding senior girl and senior boy graduating from a high school in the greater Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area (Oklahoma, Canadian, Cleveland, Logan and Pottawatomie counties, Newcastle, Tuttle and Bridge Creek). Applicants must attend a 2-year or 4-year Oklahoma college or university. A minimum GPA of 3.0 and ACT score of 22 is required. The student must have participated in high school athletics, but must not be receiving a college or university athletic scholarship or participating as a student "walk on" athlete for any given sport. The selection will be based on attributes consistent with the mission of the association including Leadership and Character, Athletic Participation/Accomplishment, School/Civic Activities and Academics.

AFSA High School Senior College Scholarship Contest

Oklahoma PTA Scholarship Application

Oklahoma PTA is accepting applications for its 2016-2017 Scholarship Program. Scholarships have a minimum award value of five hundred dollars ($500) and may be worth more depending on the number of applicants. Applications are limited to seniors graduating from an Oklahoma High School that has an active PTA/PTSA unit. The unit must be in good standing with Oklahoma PTA for the application year. Applicants must be a member of their local high school PTA or PTSA or they can join All Oklahoma PTA if there is not a PTA or PTSA at their school. Proof of membership must be submitted with the application. Eligible applicants must attend an Oklahoma college or university. There is no restriction on field of study. Please note that scholarships will be sent directly to the awardee's school after enrollment is verified - checks will not be sent to individuals. Any applicant who has received more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000) in other combined scholarships or grants in an academic year is not eligible to apply. The College JumpStart Scholarship is an annual, merit-based competition -- financial need is not considered -- that is open to 10th-12th graders, college students and non-traditional students. The main requirement is that you are committed to going to school and can express your goals for getting a higher education. The first place prize is a $1,000 scholarship to help cover educational expenses. This award can be used at any college or university in the United States. Diabetes Scholars Foundation

The Diabetes Scholars Foundation's college scholarship program is available to incoming freshmen with type 1 diabetes and who are US citizens or permanent residents seeking a higher education at an accredited four year university, college, technical or trade school. This scholarship recognizes students who have high academic performance, are actively involved in the diabetes community, participate in community and/or extra-curricular activities and who have demonstrated that they are successfully managing the challenges of living with diabetes. Gus Archie Scholarship Program

The Gus Archie Memorial Scholarship is a merit based scholarship supported by the SPE Foundation and awards an outstanding student who plans to enter a university and pursue an undergraduate degree in petroleum engineering. Jimmie L Dean Scholarship Foundation

The Jimmie L. Dean Scholarship Foundation, Inc. was established in 2008 from the generous gift of Jimmie L. Dean. The Foundation exists today to fulfill the virtues and honor the legacy of Jimmie by awarding scholarships to individuals who have grown up in Oklahoma that have and continue to exemplify the same beliefs of hard work, individual responsibility and education for attendance at an Oklahoma accredited College, University or Technical School. To be eligible for an award you must be an Oklahoma resident entering and attending an Oklahoma college, university or technical school from the list in the application form for the first time in the fall semester of 2017. Only students who attended an Oklahoma High School or were home schooled while living in Oklahoma will be considered residents by the Foundation. If you are not a graduating high school student in 2017 or a homeschooled student completing the high school requirements in 2017 you will not be considered for an award. Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Inc.

The Oklahoma City Chapter of The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE OKC) is offering scholarships for graduating high-school seniors to be awarded for the 2016-2017 school year. The scholarships are divided into two groups: (1) Qualified, graduating high school seniors in SPE Oklahoma City Section's coverage area, pursuing a Petroleum Engineering Degree, or (2) The Son or Daughter of an SPE Member and enrolled in a math or science program. SPE has distributed these scholarships since 1998 and this program has been a huge success. We need your help in finding talented young people. Successful candidates will exhibit superior communication skills and display ability in math and the sciences. The American Legion Legacy Scholarship

Since the inception of The American Legion Legacy Scholarship in 2001 following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, The American Legion has offered its support to the children of fallen post-9/11 servicemembers through this scholarship. Beginning with the 2017 award year, The American Legion expanded the scholarship to include children of VA-rated, post-9/11 veterans with a combined disability of 50 percent or higher.
