High School Graduation Information

Dear Senior and Parent,

The faculty and administration at Hilldale High School want to do everything possible to make our Commencement Exercises a worthy and honorable event.  It is our hope that commencement will be filled with memories that will be treasured for a lifetime. Graduation is a formal ceremony and we expect formal behavior during graduation.

  1. Attendance at rehearsal is required to walk at graduation
  2. All rules and policies of Hilldale Public Schools will be enforced.
  3. Appropriate dress for the graduation ceremony is the cap and gown.  These may not be altered or decorated in any way: only school issued tassels, collars, pins etc. may be worn.  Under their gowns it is recommended that students wear:
    • Guys: dress shirt, dress slacks and dress shoes.
    • Girls: dress, skirt, or dress slacks and dress shoes. Dress under the robe should adhere to district dress code.
  4. It is not appropriate at this event to wear taped messages, blue jeans, sunglasses, shorts, flip flops, t-shirts or other inappropriate clothing.
  5. Ruth Kelly will be taking pictures during graduation in order to provide the best opportunity for you to have a photograph of this most memorable occasion.

We will have a required rehearsal at 9:00 am on Saturday, May 18th at the Muskogee Civic Center. This should only last about an hour. The graduation ceremony will be held that afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at the Civic Center. Seating will be on a first come basis.  We ask that everyone be courteous to those around them and do not keep anyone from seeing their students receive their diploma or from hearing their student’s name being called (No air horns or loud noise makers).

***Graduation packets containing final transcripts and diplomas will be available for pickup after June 10th. They will not be mailed!***

We are all striving to make this event a positive and pleasant memory.  Your cooperation will make this event one we can all be proud to remember.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the high school office at (918)683-3253.

Sincerely,

Josh Nixon
