August 12 Update

Good Evening,

TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY!!!

Free and reduced lunch application - attached - Please complete and return to your site secretary.  Getting these in helps our district financially so please complete them.

Traffic - Please be patient.  After the first few days, we all get into a routine and traffic flow seems to smooth out.  School lets out at 2:55 at the middle and high schools and 3:15 at the elementary school.  You can arrive at 330 at the elementary school to help avoid the long wait in line the first few days.

Bus Routes - If you need to add a stop for your child, please contact your site secretary to make that arrangement.

                  Elementary –eparker@hilldaleps.org        Middle School – jjohnson@hilldaleps.org

                  High school – kspears@hilldaleps.org

Also, we will not be transporting students from the high school or middle school to the elementary school to walk across the crosswalk.  We are going to have seating charts on all routes and only students riding home will be on the routes.  Parents need to make arrangements to pick students up at both locations if needed.

Drop off and Pick up Elementary school – Parents at the elementary will be allowed to walk in their students on the first day of school at the elementary.  They must wear a mask and will have their temperature taken.  After the first day, no walk up will take place.  We will have two drop off locations.  You will be assigned a pick up location for after school pick up at the elementary school.  That location will be given to parents by their student’s teacher at meet and greet.

Middle School Drop off and Pick up – We will be making our parent car loop longer in anticipation of more students being dropped off and picked up each day.

Expect change – As you all know, every day is a new day in our world right now.  We will work to make changes as smooth as possible with as much notice as possible.  I would ask that you make plans in case in-person school has to move to distance learning off campus.  Please have a plan for daycare for your children, as we could have to close a classroom, school site, or the entire district with little notice.  We will prepare daily with students for this scenario, so that they will as prepared as possible if we have to send them home.

Thank you for your continued support
