Prospective Teachers Academy
The UCO Prospective Teachers Academy (PTA) was established to provide an opportunity for high school students interested in a career in education to learn more about college requirements, education programs at UCO, university life and the rewarding work of teaching.
PTA provides an in-depth look at the path through the teacher education program at UCO with the ultimate goal of helping incoming freshman save time, money and feel more in charge of their educational journey.

Prospective Teacher Registration
2022 Prospective Teacher Academy Event Dates:
- November 4th, 2022 9:00am - 2:00pm on campus – Registration Closed/Event Full
- November 18th, 2022 9:00 am- 2:00 pm on campus
- March 3rd, 2023 9:00 am- 2:00 pm on campus
Academy Information
- Provides free workshops regarding teacher education at UCO to Oklahoma high school juniors and seniors.
- Provides information for students planning to attend a community college first.
- Allows future students to meet faculty and staff within the UCO College of Education and Professional Studies.
- Academy attendance counts as a college visit.
